It's National Curry Week! And You Could Also Win A Holiday!

Any chance of the Spice Girls' guide to the Hairy Bikers?

Every week is curry week here at TATTGOC, but this week is also the official National Curry Week, which runs nationwide from Oct 7-13. For full details of "the haps", head on over to the official National Curry Week 2013 website where, among other things, you can download a PDF of a spice guide by those Hairy Bikers, who – like the Tramp – appear to fans of asafoetida. You can also show your support by following the organisers on Twitter at @supportcurry. 

To coincide with this countrywide celebration of the greatest foodstuff known to mankind, there's also a competition running over on the hungryhouse.co.uk blog with the chance to win a holiday to one of the three "homes of curry": India, Malaysia and Thailand. The holiday includes flights, accommodation and a one-day cooking course, so there's no excuse for not being able to rustle up a cracking dish on your return.

It's a great prize so there's a slightly finicky entry process: you need to order a meal on hungryhouse.co.uk and keep a note of your order number, then enter it as a comment on their blog post about the competition. To sweeten the deal, they're offering a 15% discount on orders placed during National Curry Week (you can access this discount by entering "curryweek" into the gift voucher box at checkout). The closing date for entries is October 14, and hopefully the Tramps are eligible to win.

National Curry Week will get even better this Thursday, when the latest – and only slightly out-of-date – episode of TATTGOC's Keep Calm And Curry On podcast will go live on the blog. (Although you can hear it now on Mixcloud.)
